Hair Retouching Services
Hair Retouching Services
We begin each session with a personalized consultation to evaluate the health of your hair and scalp. Our stylists take the time to understand your hair history, texture, and desired results. Using high-quality, salon-grade relaxers and protective treatments, we carefully apply the product only to the new growth, avoiding overlap that can lead to breakage or thinning.
This service is ideal
For women who wear their hair straight, work in professional environments, or want an easier daily styling routine. You leave our salon with hair that is not only straight and sleek, but also healthy, nourished, and full of life.
What sets Dolly’s Braids apart is our commitment to healthy hair practices. Before the retouching process begins, we apply a protective base to your scalp and previously relaxed hair to minimize irritation and prevent overprocessing. Post-treatment, we follow with a neutralizing shampoo, a deep conditioner, and a custom leave-in treatment to restore moisture and elasticity to your hair.
FAQs
What is hair retouching, and how often should I get it done?
Answer:
Hair retouching is the process of applying relaxer or texturizer to the new growth of your hair to maintain a smooth and uniform texture. At Dolly Braids, we recommend a retouch every 6–8 weeks, depending on your hair growth rate and texture, to prevent breakage and maintain a healthy look.
Will retouching damage my hair or scalp?
Answer:
Not when done professionally. At Dolly Braids, we use high-quality products and apply them carefully to only the new growth. We also protect your scalp with conditioners and apply aftercare treatments to keep your hair healthy, moisturized, and strong.
Can I wash my hair before coming for a retouch?
Answer:
It’s best not to wash your hair at least 3–5 days before your retouch appointment. This helps avoid scalp irritation or burns. We’ll cleanse and treat your hair during the session as part of our full retouching package.
What should I do after my hair retouch appointment?
Answer:
After a retouch, your hair needs moisture and protection. We recommend avoiding heat styling for a few days, using sulfate-free shampoos, and following up with a deep conditioning treatment within 1–2 weeks. We also offer aftercare packages to help you maintain your retouched hair at home.
Can I color my hair and retouch it on the same day?
Answer:
We do not recommend doing both on the same day, as this can lead to hair damage. At Dolly Braids, we advise spacing chemical treatments at least 2 weeks apart. Our stylists can create a personalized schedule for your color and retouch needs to keep your hair healthy and stylish.
